Kaizen Facilitator Training
Description:
Kaizen events are the vehicle to implementing lean
tools and concepts. Kaizen events are well-scoped, focused
improvement efforts that utilize a team-based approach to
eliminating wastes. The Kaizen Facilitator Training course is
designed to teach a standard kaizen process that can be used for
implementing lean tools, such as quick changeover, 5 S,
cellular / layout and TPM.
Objectives / Topics:
Overview of Kaizen.
Preparing for a Kaizen event.
Standard process for a 3-5 day Kaizen event.
Training.
Observe current process.
List wastes.
Set goals.
Brainstorm countermeasures.
Try-storm improvements.
Restart line and measure results.
Standardize. improvements.
Develop report.
Present results.
Follow-through actions.
Forms and tools for quickly collecting and analyzing data.
Preparing a final report for management.
Estimating the impact of the event.
Prerequisites:
Principles of Lean Manufacturing with Live
Simulation or equivalent.
Expected
Outcomes:
Participants will learn to facilitate a kaizen
event, including preparation, standard process, forms and tools, and
preparing and presenting results to management.

responsible for leading Kaizen events.
