Introduction to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

Description:

 

In this course, participants will receive an introduction to Total Productive Maintenance.

TPM goes far beyond traditional maintenance boundaries to attack equipment related waste, including: downtime, speed losses, defects, constant adjustments, and breakdowns.

This class illustrates a method to proactively maintain machines and equipment at their peak productivity. Participants will gain an understanding of TPM and its major components, including how to measure and increase overall equipment effectiveness and how TPM can help avoid interruptions to production. The course also provides a comprehensive understanding of autonomous maintenance.

 

Prerequisites:

Principles of Lean Manufacturing with Live Simulation or equivalent.

 

Expected
Outcomes:

Participants will observe the benefits of implementing TPM. The class participants will see how TPM increases overall equipment effectiveness and how it can help avoid interruptions to production. Also, how TPM reduces equipment related waste including: downtime, speed losses, defects, constant adjustments, breakdowns, etc.
