Ed is a
graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where he earned his B.S. in
Industrial Engineering. He also earned his M.S. in Engineering
Administration at Syracuse University. Ed has had 34 years
experience in industry, gaining expertise in Industrial Engineering,
Planning, Manufacturing Management, TQM and World Class
Manufacturing techniques. Ed joined AM&T in 1994 and has delivered
services to scores of businesses focusing on Business Assessments,
Strategic Planning, Lean Manufacturing, Process Improvements and
overall business performance improvement. In April 1998, Ed was
appointed Executive Director of AM&T.

Jim
joined AM&T after many years experience in the manufacturing and
distribution industries. In addition to previously owning his own
industrial marketing agency, Jim has been involved with several
company start-ups and corporate reorganizations and has held various
management positions in Sales, Marketing, Quality Assurance and
Operations with a number of hi-tech companies. Jim manages the
development of new business and expansion of AM&T’s outreach to
small and mid-size manufacturers in the Southern Tier and is a
certified Professional Business Advisor, delivering consulting
services in the areas of Business Assessments, Operational and
Strategic Planning, Organizational Improvements, Eureka! Winning
Ways, and Sales & Marketing Management, Planning and Training.

Norma
J. Cushner

Norma
earned an A.A.S. degree in Medical Office Assistance and joined AM&T
in 1995 with twenty years experience spread over manufacturing,
sales, service, distribution and operation her own small business.
At AM&T, Norma is involved in many activities supporting the
Executive Director and consultants to keep the office on track
delivering client services and meeting contract obligations. She
coordinates Board meetings and transcribes the meeting minutes; is
responsible for the Supply budget line; publication of AM&T’s
monthly newsletter; design of marketing materials; and maintenance
and accuracy of AM&T’s database. She also works with other MEP
centers, universities and partners to develop marketing materials on
joint projects and provide assistance with conferences, workshops,
trade shows, etc. In addition, Norma, with AM&T consultants,
facilitates the delivery of Lean manufacturing training for area
companies. She is a member of the Finger Lakes Entrepreneurs’ Forum
and the National Association of Professional Women.

Robert
F. Edwards

Bob is a
graduate of Broome Community College where he earned his A.A.S.
degree in Electronic Technology. Bob has an additional eight years
experience in quality control and engineering before changing
careers to computer programming. Bob has twenty years experience in
various networking technologies (LAN, WAN) and computer programming
on the IBM PC. During this time Bob studied Computer Science at S.U.N.Y. Binghamton. Bob joined AM&T in March of 1996 and has since
become our Webmaster and database administrator. Bob is responsible
for keeping AM&T at the leading edge of hardware & software use.

Lloyd A. Johnson

Lloyd
brings over 30 years of experience in engineering, quality, and
manufacturing to the AM&T organization. His career has taken him
from an electronics designer, where he received three patents for
microelectronic control designs, to Chief Operating Officer at a
high-tech manufacturer located in Ithaca. Lloyd’s expertise is in
Project Management, ISO Quality System development, and Operations
Management using World Class Manufacturing techniques. Lloyd is a
NIST/MEP authorized Professional Business Advisor (PBA) and a PMI
certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He is also
certified by NIST/MEP to deliver training in lean manufacturing
methods and certified by the Training-Within-Industry (TWI)
Institute to assist companies with building Supervisory Skills.
Lloyd earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an MBA, both from
Syracuse University, and is a member of IEEE, ASQ, the Independent
Consultant Network, and the Finger Lakes Entrepreneurs’ Forum. At
AM&T, Lloyd focuses on Business Assessments, Strategic Planning,
Lean Manufacturing, Supervisor Skill Building, ISO Internal
Auditing, and Project Management Support.

Robert (Bob) Mann

Bob is a
graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) where he
earned an A.A.S. degree in Photographic Engineering and a B.S.
degree in Business. He has successfully completed ISO 9000 and 14000
Lead Assessor Training. He had over 33 years of industry experience
with GAF Corporation and the IBM Corporation. IBM experience
included Domestic and International Functional Assessments /
Evaluation of Business Practices, Manufacturing Logistics, Cycle
Time Reduction, and Business Process Analysis. Prior to coming to
AM&T in 1995, Bob spent six months with a national Registrar of
Quality Systems. He joined AM&T in 1995 and developed its ISO 9000
training and internal audit programs. Bob is a Professional Business
Advisor (PBA) and a RAB certified IATCA Senior QMS Auditor -
#QI04883 - and has helped several manufacturers achieve their ISO
certification. He continues to assist several companies by
performing their required ISO internal audits and provides audit
services to AQA International, a quality system registrar.

Michael Meador

Michael
has experience in a range of industries, including software,
telecommunications, solar energy, and healthcare. He was the founder
or co-owner of several businesses, and in addition to CEO roles has
managed functions such as Strategic & Financial Planning, Sales &
Marketing, Human Resources, Finance & Administration, Facilities,
Risk Management, and Information Technology. He has an undergraduate
degree in communications and earned an MBA from Cornell’s Johnson
School of Management. As the most recent addition to the AM&T team,
Michael’s primary role is to develop and strengthen relationships
with both businesses and partner organizations. His broad experience
will increasingly be tapped to deliver services such as Business
Assessments, Planning, Marketing, and Training.

Carol Miller

Carol has
over 25 years experience in the manufacturing and service sectors.
She has a broad-based background in Operations and Project
Management, Lean Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Technology
Integration. Carol has worked in a variety of operations and
management functions at several companies. She joined the MEP
Program in 1996 and has provided consulting services in the design
and implementation of manufacturing best practices in Long Island
and New Jersey prior to joining AM&T. Carol has a BS in Industrial
Engineering from the State University of New York, College at
Buffalo, and an MS in Management of Technology from Polytechnic
University. She is a member of the Association for Manufacturing
Excellence (AME), and is a NIST certified trainer and implementer of
Lean Manufacturing techniques. Carol leads AM&T’s Lean effort and
has delivered lean training and implementation to scores of
companies.

Kathy
M. Peacock

Kathy is
a graduate of St. Bonaventure University with a B.B.A. in
Accounting. She also is a Notary Public and belongs to the American
Institute of Professional Bookkeepers. Kathy has twenty-five years
of Accounting experience; twenty of which are in the non-profit
sector. She joined AM&T in April of 1995 and is responsible for
handling all of AM&T’s finances and reporting. She prepares reports
for use by the Executive Director and Board of Directors in
evaluating AM&T’s financial stability. Kathy manages our client
contracts, tracking & invoicing and monitors AM&T goals,
participates in Board Meetings and Statewide reporting efforts.
Kathy is an ISO Internal Auditor performing AM&T’s and some clients’
internal audits. She provides support to the consulting staff where
needed, particularly in Lean classes and at trade shows, and helps
clients complete their financial reimbursement requests on various
grants. Kathy also handles AM&T’s annual audit by an outside CPA
firm. This involves work paper preparation and support while the
audit takes place.

Carl
Terpack

Carl is a
retired Executive Director of AM&T. Prior to joining AM&T, he spent
six years as a business consultant working with many national and
international companies. Before that he held a number of senior
management positions with the IBM Corp. including Plant Manager and
Laboratory Director. Carl holds a B.S.E.E. degree from Lehigh
University, (B.S. in Electrical Engineering; B.A. in math). He
attended Executive Programs in Manufacturing at Harvard Business
School, Executive Programs in Finance at the University of Virginia
and graduate courses at Syracuse University. Carl spent 31 years in
industry, holding leadership roles in executive management positions
in the computer industry. Carl’s expertise is in Leadership,
Teamwork, Strategic Planning, MRP/ERP Systems, and Total Quality
Management (TQM) Principles. He has extensive experience in all
aspects of business and industry operations.

William Welker

Bill has
over 38 years experience which includes 20 years of Quality
Engineering / Assurance experience and 10 years of Quality
Management experience. Bill's recent activities include 11 years of
providing ISO 9000 training and consulting services for small and
medium size manufacturing companies. Bill is an RAB Certified
Quality Systems Lead Auditor - #Q05779 and also was a Malcolm
Baldrige examiner and instructor for 5 years. Bill is a graduate of
Grove City College where he earned his degree in Mechanical
Engineering and took Engineering Administration courses at Syracuse
University.
